Compliance
Results you can trace, line by line.
Each result in PlutoHX carries its formula, the inputs it used, the steps in between, and the code rule it comes from.
What a result looks like
One line of a calculation package.
The shell of the teaching example, as a result is laid out: the rule, the formula, the inputs, the working, and the outcome.
Formula
t = P R / (S E - 0.6 P)
Inputs
| P | 300 psi | design pressure |
|---|---|---|
| R | 20.125 in | inside radius, corroded |
| S | 20,000 psi | SA-516 Grade 70, ASME Section II, Part D |
| E | 0.85 | joint efficiency, spot radiography (UW-12) |
| c | 0.125 in | corrosion allowance (UG-25) |
Working
- t = 300 × 20.125 / (20,000 × 0.85 - 0.6 × 300)
- t = 6,037.5 / 16,820 = 0.359 in
- t + c = 0.484 in
Result

Meets the requirementRule limits: t not over R/2, P not over 0.385 S E.
Three moments of review
Before, during, and after the design.
Before: the data is approved
The engineer reviews and approves the imported data, and confirms the assumptions, before PlutoHX designs anything.
During: live checks
Code compliance checks, design warnings, and feasibility checks run while the design takes shape, with a friendly note where something needs attention.
After: the calculation package
The package lays out each result with its working, for the client, the lead engineer and the Authorized Inspector.
For the records
Validation and requirements, in writing.
Among the reports PlutoHX generates are the non-destructive examination (NDE) and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) requirements of the design, and a software validation report for the records of the project.
Coming Winter 2026
We would be glad to show you PlutoHX.
PlutoHX launches at the end of this year. A live demo shows how it fits the way your team works.
