Use case
For mechanical and design engineers.
For engineers who design heat exchangers and pressure vessels: the whole exchanger in one model, and the freedom to try an idea and see its effect.
A new exchanger
From the datasheet to the calculation package.
Take the reference exchanger: TEMA AET, a 40 in shell, and 554 tubes. From its datasheet, PlutoHX designs its shell and channel, the covers and nozzles, the girth flanges and their bolts, and the tubesheets, then generates the calculation package that goes with them.
- The shell to UG-27, with its MAWP and hydrostatic test
- The heads to UG-32 and the flat covers to UG-34
- The girth flanges to Mandatory Appendix 2
- The tubesheets to Part UHX
A what-if on the bolting
Try an idea, see the effect.
Suppose you try 7/8 in bolts in the girth flange to save cost. PlutoHX shows at once that the bolt area is now below the required area, and suggests the fix. With 72 bolts of 7/8 in, the requirement is met again.
Features you will use most
For the design itself.
Coming Winter 2026
We would be glad to show you PlutoHX.
PlutoHX launches at the end of this year. A live demo shows how it fits the way your team works.
Visit us at the booth for a deep dive into PlutoHX.
